Art and creativity for change summit and festival 2022 edition is happening
A 4-day program full of activities started, it opened with a press conference in which the president of CEMAC, Daniel ONA ONDO was present. He explained to the press the motive for the presence of CEMAC. He said their participation and contribution is to foster the presence of Central African artists in events like these and to motivate collaboration among Africans in the cultural and creative industry.
The founder of AIC Raoul Rugamba and the founder of MOCA Alain Bidjeck, the co-producers of AICMOCA summit and festival, explained that the main goal of this initiative is rethink business doing in cultural & creative industry, facilitating market access, connectivity, and movement in African countries in collaboration with cultural and creative actors.
International artists La Fouine and Blick Bassy emphasizes their pleasure of being in Rwanda and being part of AICxMOCA summit and festival 2022, they also mentioned that their role as artists in their community even worldwide is to always use their voice in advocacy for culture and creative industry and to fight against any injustice.
Rwandan artists were present as well, Riderman, Angel Umutoni, Okkama, Chriss Easy, Papa Cyangwe.
The organizers recalled the program of the event, where the first day it was programmed the roundtable Think Thank “invest in creative industries” to be hosted by Rwanda Development board (Deputy CEO – Rwanda Development Board) and the Labs & masters classes of music, dance, visual arts, fashion, movie; to brings together artists, local and international experts for a unique collaboration between creation, sharing of experience and transmission of skills with the participants.
The day will be closed by DJS sets with DJ Toxxyk alongside Dj Yumbs and Soul matinez at Kigali convention center.
On 1st July is the first day of summit with the topic:
- Structuring Creative Industries, policies, research and development
- Access to the African and Global market, mobility and integration for artists and entrepreneurs
- Access to finance in the creative sector
- Empower creative industries and the value chain
On the other hand, the labs and master classes are still going and the day closed by the JAM Session at Hotel Onomo
On 2nd July, the summit continues with the following topics:
- The Future of Creative Industries
- Rethinking the film industry
- New business models in CCIs
- Developing the music industry
- Developing the visual arts sectors
- Use technology to promote & monetarize creativity
- And the keynote “Fire chat with Zozibini Tunzi, Miss Univers 2019/2020
In parallel of the summit, the Animations Gaming /Virtual Reality event will be taking place at French Institute, in the evening Hotel des milles colines will host fashion dance show, and finally the concert many are waiting will take place, La Fouine concert at imbuga city zone
The last day of the summit and festival the 3rd July, there will be the lab restitution at Imbuga city free zone.
