ART & CREATIVITY FOR CHANGE

Africa in Colors is a PanAfrican initiative, founded by Raoul Rugamba in Kigali,Rwanda ,and positioning itself as acatalyzer to rethink the culture and creative industry ecosystem able to create jobs and revenues.

MOCA is a platform focus on African and Diaspora Cultural and Creative Industries created by Alain Bidjeck in Paris. MOCA connects actors of this ecosystem, creators, entrepreneurs and decision makers, to share experiences, imagine solutions on key issues and to promote opportunities

Both projects are working under three main axes, which are, education, collaboration and access to finance. Together, they have build a global network of 50 countries across the globe, 35 being on the African continent and 15 being outside the continent.

In the middle of apandemic, in 2020, RaoulRugamba, based on the African continent and Alain Bidjeck, based in the Diaspora, joined forces for a strategic partnership, to rethink the African creative ecosystem of tomorrow, in order for it to impact, in a sustainable way, locally and globally.

>As our first mission ,we made Rwanda the guest of honor at MOCA summit during its 6th edition ,that took place in Paris in 2021. 12 key players participated and promoted Rwanda as a creative hub, among them Prudence Rubingisa, Mayor o fKigali-Zephanie Niyonkuru ,deputy CEO at RDB-Jean De Dieu Turinimana, CEO o fRwanda Society of Authors –CaroleKaremera –Nirere Shanel ,and Judo Kanobana.

>As our second mission, Africa in Colors and MOCA are jointly putting together an international conference/ festival to support further, the cultural and creative industries in Rwanda. The AIC x MOCA festival is scheduled to take place from June 30th to July 3rd in Kigali:

-4 days of full activities, panels – workshops – virtual reality & video gaming experiences – awards, entertainment, exhibitions, tours, and B2B meetings.

-5,000 participants from across Rwanda, around the continent and the rest of the world are expected to participate on those 4days.

Among them, students, entrepreneurs, artists, influencers, innovators, decision markers, various national and international medias houses, and many other players of the culture and creative industry players from across the globe.

AIC and MOCA have partners from various institutions, public and private, in Rwanda, across Africa and in the rest of the world. Among them: the Government of Rwanda through the Ministry of Youth and Culture and the Rwanda Culture Heritage Academy, the Government of France through the Ministry of Culture, the African Union, City of Paris, UNESCO, United Cities and Local Governments of Africa, Unanimous Games, 3D Netinfo, Afric’up ,and many others.
